Scazzero grew up in Elmsford, New York, and enjoyed success as a player as well as a coach. He went on to play for Hall of Fame coach Richie Moran at Cornell. 2009 is Scazzero’s 30th year as head coach of the Texas A&M lacrosse program with an outstanding 414-119 overall record. In 2003 Scazzero was named Lone Star Alliance Division I Coach of the Year. In May of 2004, Scazzero received the prestigious Sam Stadler Award as humanitarian of the year. He is the past president of the Southwest Lacrosse Association (SWLA), League Commissioner of the Lone Star Alliance and currently sits on the US Lacrosse board of directors. In May 2009 Scazzero became the third president of the MCLA.
